Technology and Business

Technological revolution is about politics. It is about a sophisticated technologies. As a matter of fact, most times technology is irrelevant. What is the essence of purchasing the latest equipment software for your organisation and the high-tech machinery, when you do not even know how to operate it? Then you have to employ someone else to operate it and send him regularly for training to keep up with the trend.

It is a known fact that technology revolution is a brilliant phenomenon that has hit our world and set things fast in motion. However, if we would take a closer look on how such technological high-tech machinery, computers and software readily affect our culture, values, and core ideology and furthermore how this technological infrastructure would be sustained for a reasonable period of time before jumping into it. My mentor Mr. Warren Buffet says he does not even have a computer or a mobile phone, yet he is the richest person in the world today!

The ability to get information when necessary and apply the information to yield results in any organisation is more important than the ability to keep up with the technological trend in the world today. The truth is you can never keep up fast enough. You should be able to decipher which technology is relevant and which technology is totally irrelevant. I mean you do not want to wind up having to spend so much money on a white elephant and put it in your living room were you have to keep cleaning it up and it does nothing for you but occupies space!!
